Akaka Falls State Park is just a few miles from the home and has an easy walking path to view the falls. These wonderful 440 ft. water falls are one of the tallest and most beautiful falls on the big Island of Hawaii.

The Honoli'i Beach County Park and Hakalau Bay Beach County Scenic Valley Park is just a short drive from the home, and offers surfing, boogie boarding, swimming,  and of course the beach. There are many public beaches around the island to visit, including: Waipio Valley Beach, Green Sand Beach, Black Sand Beach, and Hapuna Beach. It seems like around every corner there is a new beach to check-out.

The Volcano National Park is also a great place to explore. You are able to walk right up to the lava flows and watch the island grow right in front of your own eyes.
